About

I'm a 39-year-old creative from Ontario, Canada. I've been part of many musical projects like my dungeon synth project Aufhocker, surf rock band Shango, and streetpunk band The Stylez, among others. Music is my life, and I've got a collection of about 20 guitars, 10 synthesizers, and a bunch of other instruments like tin whistles, recorders, harmonicas, and small percussion instruments like bongos, maracas, and tambourines. I also play bass guitar and drums. Check out my music on the stuff page.

As a big GNU/Linux fan and free software advocate, I believe in freedom and creativity when it comes to computer programming. You can some of my software projects on the stuff page.

I run Retro Wasteland, a YouTube channel where I upload one-minute intro videos of NES games.

I've always loved outsider subcultures. I'm a (non-racist) skinhead. I'm like punk and hardcore music, and also skinhead reggae, ska, and rocksteady. I've been a vegetarian (ovo-lacto) since 2006. My politics are all over the place, and I find myself identifying with neither the left, or the right.

I went to Catholic school as a kid, but now I'm a recovering atheist with a deep fascination for the history of myths and mythology.

Life hasn't been without challenges. I've lost people very close to me, and have had my own share of medical complications. I survived a heart attack in 2016, which led to a stent being placed in my heart, and in 2018, I had my gallbladder removed, an experience I'll never forget because it was the worst pain I've ever felt. Lucky to be alive!

I'm also a proud uncle to two amazing kids and a guardian to three beagle dogs. I was born in North York, Toronto, but raised in St. Thomas to a family of Newfoundlanders.
